Hendrick’s Flora Adora is here!

Hendrick’s Flora Adora is the new limited edition from the Hendrick’s Cabinet of Curiosities, inspired by the alluring flowers that bees and butterflies love most.

At the heart of Hendrick’s Distillery, in the Cabinet of Curiosities, Ms Lesley Gracie, inventor and master distiller, experiments with new liquids. Each year, a liquid makes it from the laboratory to production, to share with the world and all Hendrick’s Gin fans. These are limited editions. The liquid that comes out remains available for 2 years each. It replaces the penultimate limited edition. Each year, a new innovation product follows. Midsummer Solstice and Lunar were followed by Neptunia in 2022. Flora Adora is the latest creation by Lesley Gracie and will be available in Switzerland from March 2023.

How did Hendrick’s Flora Adora Gin come about?

As with all Cabinet of Curiosities releases, the base is always Hendrick’s Gin – made from the same 11 dried botanicals, distilled in two completely different stills and enhanced with rose and cucumber. All other additional botanicals are layered on top. In the case of Hendrick’s Flora Adora, it is a floral bouquet.

How does Hendrick’s Flora Adora Gin taste?

On the nose and initially on the palate, juniper is noticeable alongside the classic coriander. The earthy herbal note of angelica is more noticeable in Hendrick’s Flora Adora, but this is not because more angelica has been added, but because of how it interacts with the added floral bouquet.

In the middle of the palate, there is again a lot of coriander, little citrus, but not quite as obvious as in the classic Hendrick’s. The big floral presence stands out more clearly – like a bouquet of flowers, if you will. Think geraniums, lavender and roses. Many floral notes are discernible – some are more herbaceous, others more lush. Also discernible are the hoppy, green tea notes of yarrow and the perfumed iris root.

The rose really comes into its own on the finish and lingers on the palate.
