The Hakutsuru sake we distribute is an original sake from Japan which has been produced since 1743. Incidentally, rather than «rice wine», sake is actually brewed in a similar way to beer. Meanwhile, selected Japanese plums («ume») are used to make Hakutsuru Plum Wine. Plum Wine has a sweet and sour taste and an intense plum aroma.

Hakutsuru
Hakutsuru is one of the biggest sake breweries and has been brewing sake for almost 270 years. In addition to sake, Hakutsuru also produces shochu (a Japanese distilled spirit), mirin (cooking sake) and liqueurs (e.g. plum liqueur). The brewery is located in the Nada District, near Kobe. The rice and water here are of the highest quality, and the cool winters are ideal for producing sake. Hakutsuru is the Japanese word for 'white crane'. This graceful bird symbolises the long history of high quality and excellent taste of Hakutsuru.
