The famous Bergkelder ('cellar in the mountain') Wine Centre cuts deep into the slopes of the Papegaaiberg near Stellenbosch. This is the home of the Fleur du Cap wine selection. Contrary to the belief that Africa always needs to be hot, the Cape has a Mediterranean climate, resulting in the wines produced by winemakers Cobus Gerber and Bennie Liebenberg.
