180 Years of Underberg
Hubert Underberg and his wife Catharina Albrecht founded the company ‘H. Underberg-Albrecht’ in Germany in 1846, on their wedding day. Underberg has always stood for quality, tradition and artisanal perfection.
Today, Underberg is run by the sixth generation of the family and, as Semper idem AG, distributes other internationally renowned spirits brands.
Underberg: a world-renowned classic

The herbal liqueur is produced in Rheinberg using the secret, unchanging ‘Semper Idem’ method. Just as the company’s founder, Hubert Underberg, developed it, and just as the sixth generation still does today.
Herbs from 43 different countries are used, and their essences are extracted with particular care. This is followed by a months-long maturation process in Slovenian oak barrels.
Underberg is sold exclusively in 20ml single-serve bottles, wrapped in straw paper and fitted with the original green Underberg cap. Underberg contains absolutely no added sugar, colourings or other additives; it is vegan, kosher and gluten-free. The digestif is well known not only in its country of origin, Germany, but worldwide.
Underberg Espresso Herbtini: Herbal liqueur with espresso

After 177 years, the Underberg brand launched a second product in its portfolio a few years ago: The Underberg Espresso Herbtini, a ready-mixed cocktail.
The Underberg Espresso Herbtini was inspired by a barista in Berlin who demonstrated how well Underberg’s high herbal content complements espresso flavours and served the Espresso Herbtini as a reinterpretation of the classic Espresso Martini cocktail.
Espresso and herbs define the flavour of the Underberg Espresso Herbtini: organic espresso made from 100 per cent Arabica beans and carefully selected and gently extracted herbs from 43 countries.
The bitter notes of the herbs and espresso beans complement each other perfectly and are rounded off by a hint of natural vanilla. No colourings or flavourings are added – Underberg Espresso Herbtini is kosher, vegan and gluten-free. This product also adheres to the Underberg purity code, although the recipe includes sugar, as is typical for liqueurs.
