Highland Park 17 Years Old ‘Between You and I’ by Laila Gohar
For a limited edition, Highland Park has collaborated with artist and host Laila Gohar. The 17-year-old single malt from Orkney deliberately does without predefined tasting notes.
Laila Gohar brings food and art together and creates experiences that get people talking. Inspired by her Egyptian roots, the single malt reflects her personal world of flavour. The packaging design shows the images she saw while tasting: leather notes reminded her of ancient treasures in a Cairo museum, orange blossom of courtyards in Andalusia, and warm vanilla of the slopes of a tropical volcano.
Master Whisky Maker Marc Watson tasted more than 80 casks before making his choice for this edition. After eleven years in previously used casks, the single malt spent its final six years in new, virgin American oak casks. They lend it citrus notes, spicy accents and creamy vanilla. The name says it all: Between You and I invites everyone to capture their own impressions in words or pictures and to share them.
About Highland Park
The Highland Park distillery is located in Kirkwall on the Orkney Islands, off the north coast of Scotland. Since its founding by Magnus Eunson in 1798, it has gone its own way, far from the mainland. Two elements shape its style: peat from Hobbister Moor on Orkney, where heather has grown for millennia, giving the whisky a subtle hint of smoke; and sherry-seasoned oak casks, which according to Highland Park account for around 60% of the flavour and all of the colour.
Quantities are currently limited. Bottled products are available only on request via our sales representatives.
