Nikka Whisky was founded in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru, a visionary widely regarded as the «father of Japanese whisky». After studying the art of distillation in Scotland, he returned to Japan with not only technical expertise but also a deep passion for authentic whisky. With the establishment of the Yoichi Distillery on Hokkaido and later the Miyagikyo Distillery in the mountains of Sendai, he laid the foundation for a brand that is today recognized worldwide as a symbol of quality, precision, and character. Nikka whiskies are known for their complexity and balance – from the maritime, smoky notes of a Yoichi Single Malt to the fruity, elegant aromas of a Miyagikyo.
