The first partner for Between You and I

For the first release, Highland Park collaborated with culinary pioneer Björn Frantzén, whose personal tasting notes and impressions inspired the packaging design. Frantzén combines Nordic ingredients, French techniques and Japanese culinary philosophy to create three-Michelin-star experiences.

Cask Strength Heather – more heather than ever before

Cask Strength: Heather is a new limited edition single malt made from 100% peated barley to deliver the strongest expression of Orkney heather peat. This bottling shows more heather than ever before and is bottled at cask strength (63.6% ABV).

Balance between cask and craft

Produced in a combination of European and American sherry-seasoned oak casks and selected refill casks, this whisky combines intense sherry sweetness with aromatic heather smoke.

Orkney-inspired packaging

The abstract representation of peat smoke on the packaging, purple heather and a subtle smoky tone reflect the complex aromas of the bottle.

About Highland Park

The Highland Park distillery is located on the Orkney Islands off the northernmost tip of Scotland. Magnus Eunson, butcher and church employee by day, smuggler by night, distilled in a small hut near High Park overlooking Kirkwall – where the distillery still stands today. Highland Park was officially founded in 1798, but in reality this was the year the authorities finally managed to arrest Magnus – whisky had been distilled there before. With the exception of smuggling, little has changed since then. Highland Park has remained true to its founder’s high quality standards for over 220 years. The following five cornerstones are crucial to this: aromatic peat from Hobbister Moor, its own hand-operated floor malting, select sherry oak casks, cask maturation under ideal conditions in the temperate island climate, and slow cask harmonisation. These five cornerstones make Highland Park one of the best single malts in the world. The characterful whiskies are characterised by a subtle, smoky sweetness and still pay tribute to their Viking roots today.
