The Macallan launches new Harmony Edition with JING Tea
The Macallan is expanding its limited Harmony Collection with a new special edition, created in close collaboration with the renowned tea house JING Tea. The Inspired by Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea edition combines the craftsmanship of single malt whisky with the world of exquisite single garden teas.
Whisky meets the art of tea
The new bottling was created by The Macallan’s Whisky Mastery Team and is inspired by the rare Phoenix Honey Orchid Oolong tea, which is grown in the Phoenix Mountains in Guangdong (China).
Matured in sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks, as well as a small proportion of former bourbon casks, the whisky displays aromas of peach, apricot, blossom honey, tropical fruits, toffee and sweet oak.
The packaging for this limited edition is made from recycled tea leaves – in keeping with the Harmony Collection’s commitment to sustainability.
Shared values and rituals
For the market launch, The Macallan developed a tasting ritual inspired by the traditional Chinese Gong Fu tea ceremony. It emphasises the shared philosophy of both brands: origin, terroir and uncompromising craftsmanship.

Tasting notes
- Nose: Summer peaches and apricots with the beguiling sweetness of blossom honey, interwoven with tropical fruits, toffee and sweet oak.
- Palate: Fresh peaches in rich syrup, warm citrus notes and toffee, light floral nuances that give way to a delicate, herbal astringency.
- Finish: Fruity, sweet and complex.
The new Inspired by Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea bottling is available now and adds another innovative edition to the annual Harmony Collection.
