Nikka Whisky – new at Dettling & Marmot
Effective immediately, we are expanding our portfolio to include Nikka Whisky, a heritage brand synonymous with uncompromising quality since its founding in 1934. Established by Masataka Taketsuru — often called the «father of Japanese whisky» — Nikka unites Japanese precision with the finest Scottish distilling traditions.
After mastering the art of distillation in Scotland, Taketsuru applied his expertise to the Yoichi distillery on Hokkaido and Miyagikyo near Sendai. This unique fusion of meticulous craftsmanship and international know‑how has elevated Nikka to a global benchmark in the premium whisky segment.
The Yoichi distillery is renowned for its robust, peaty, and maritime single malts, while Miyagikyo produces more elegant and floral expressions. Under the Nikka umbrella, you will also find expertly blended whiskies and grain spirits that appeal to both newcomers and connoisseurs alike.
