Two characterful agave spirit brands from Oaxaca are joining our portfolio – made for modern bar culture.

From the agave fields of Oaxaca to Europe’s most talked-about bars: BEÚ Spirits and ZOND5 have already won over bartenders and the trade press, and with Dettling & Marmot they now have the right distribution partner in Switzerland. From mid-April, the two BEÚ expressions New Moon and Crescent Moon, along with the mixing mezcal ZOND5, will be available.

Two brands – one shared ambition

BEÚ (Zapotec for “moon”) is aimed at connoisseurs and explorers. The distillates are produced in small batches by selected Maestras and Maestros Mezcaleros in Oaxaca – traditional, handcrafted, and deliberately without mezcal certification in order to preserve original production methods. The result is unique flavour profiles of a kind usually found only in the mountains of Mexico. This authenticity is wrapped in a reduced, Nordic-inspired design with labels made from recycled agave fibres – sustainable down to the last detail.

ZOND5 is the counterpart for the modern bar: a certified mezcal (as of 2026) at 45% ABV, developed specifically for mixing and pouring. Despite its strength, it delivers a rounded, well-balanced body. The smokiness is present without being dominant – ideal for cocktails with character. The design draws on Mexican street culture and brings the spirit of barrio, cumbia and street food straight behind the bar.

What unites both brands is an uncompromising commitment to quality and authenticity – and the idea of building a bridge between Mexican tradition and European bar culture.
