Gin Mare with Mediterranean Cuisine
The combination of selected botanicals and artisanal distillation makes Gin Mare an interesting option for food pairings.
Gin Mare is a Mediterranean-inspired gin characterized by a finely balanced, herbaceous aroma profile. Its distinctive character is based on botanicals from various Mediterranean countries – including Italian basil, Greek thyme, Turkish rosemary, and Arbequina olives from Spain. Gin Mare is produced in a small distillery on the Costa Dorada, south of Barcelona.
The production follows a complex process: each botanical is macerated and distilled separately before the components are combined into a balanced composition by the Master Distiller. The olives, in particular, contribute to the unique texture and depth with their mild, salty note.
Sensory profile
In the glass, Gin Mare presents itself as complex and aromatic, with a combination of herbal notes, citrusy freshness, and a gentle saltiness. While juniper is present, it is deliberately restrained in favor of the Mediterranean components. Gin Mare clearly stands out from classic London Dry and is increasingly gaining attention in upscale gastronomy and hospitality.
Versatility in use
Thanks to its distinctive yet well-integrated aroma profile, Gin Mare is suitable for pairing with food – both as a component in drink pairings and as an aromatic reference in menu compositions. Its Mediterranean character pairs well with fish and seafood, aged cheese, aromatic vegetables, or olive oil-based preparations.
Gin Mare offers a wide range of applications: from classic long drinks and seasonal signature cocktails to more complex creations like an aged Negroni – the gin remains clearly recognizable without overpowering other ingredients. Gastronomy establishments focusing on food pairing concepts will find in Gin Mare a high-quality and distinctive product.
